Fornells
Fornells is situated to the North of Menorca, which is the smallest of the three Spanish Balearic islands. There is a good selection of quality accommodation in the surrounding areas including apartments and private villas with pools. Fornells harbour is a large, naturally protected inlet which is perfect for watersports including sailing, windsurfing and diving. From its privileged position it is an ideal base for coastal excursions and fishing trips along the north coast. It is also a good destination for food lovers and Menorca´s famous dish “Caldereta” (lobster stew) is served here in the local fish restaurants.
Playa de Fornells is two kilometres away from Fornells village and is made up of white washed villas and Mediterranean style apartments, steeped on the sloping hill. The resort nestles into the side of a large, horseshoe–shaped bay called Cala Tirant. At the foot of the bay lies a fine sandy beach with crystal clear and shallow waters, ideal for safe swimming making it an ideal place for families .Close to Fornells is the small holiday resort of Son Parc, which has Menorca´s only Golf course as well as a wide sandy beach. Fragrant pine woods dominate this area and the lush green countryside is a perfect area to be explored on foot or on bicycle.
Arenal Den Castell
Arenal d'en Castell is a quiet and relaxed beach resort, 12 kilometres away from the old fishing village of Fornells on the north coast of Menorca and is especially popular with British families. The golden sand bay at Arenal d'en Castell is a near perfect horse shoe and is set against beautiful pine clad hills. The beach is without doubt a major attraction of this resort with fine, clean sand and a good variety of water sports. During the summer months the resort has a mini land train running around the town throughout the day and well into the night. The nearby resort of Son Parc boasts the island’s only golf course catering to both beginners and experienced golfers alike and is set close to the beach amongst impressive scenery.
