Pollensa and Area

Pollensa and Area Villas
Mallorca’s northern coastline is made up of two wide sandy bays, Bahia de Pollensa and Bahia de Alcudia, divided by the rugged Aucanada Peninsula and Cap d’es Pinar, a rocky cape covered in pine trees. The northern tip of the Tramuntana mountains juts out into the sea, forming the spectacular Cap de Formentor, which in turn shelters the sandy bay of Port of Pollensa, a relaxed family resort and fishing village. The Bay of Pollensa finishes where Majorca’s second mountain range, the Serra de Llevant, rises out of the central plain. Cap de Formentor offers secluded, white sandy bays and 200m high cliffs giving way to magnificent coastal views.

A short ferry ride from Port de Pollensa is the Cal Pi de la Posada bay, famous for the world renowned Formentor Hotel which has been attracting the jet set since the 1930’s. Alcudia, the norths other main town is an old Roman settlement literally meaning -on the hill. Like many other Mallorquine towns, Alcudia was built in-land from its port to save it from pillaging pirates. The port of Alcudia rests on a sheltered bay at the base of the craggy Aucanada Peninsula which means that it boasts some of the best weather in Mallorca. Clear blue skies and high temperatures mean that it is a favourite with the sun worshippers. The wetlands of S’Albufera are an important conservation area and are the nesting site for over 200 different species of birds. The northern region is not only visited for its beaches and many choices of activities. Great hiking routes and designated cycling routes make it a fantastic place to visit for nature lovers and bird watchers. These are only a few reasons the northregion is one of the preferred holiday resorts of Mallorca, the Balearic Islands' largest island.

Cala San Vicente

Cala San Vincente is one of the most outstanding beauty spots on the north coast of Mallorca, located only seven kilometers from the port and old town of Pollensa and offering some of the best scenery on the island. It is one of the smallest resorts on the island and It has three pretty, small bays. Cala Barques, Cala Clara and Cala Molins. All three bays differ slightly in size but are blessed by beautifully clear waters. The resort has a few beachside restaurants and cafes serving international cuisine as well as local dishes. Our villa accommodation is all located in walking distance to the beach and shops. All of the basics and souvenirs can be found in Cala San Vicente but a greater selection can be found in nearby Pollensa old town. There are several excellent walks around the Cala San Vicente area and also nearby are some prehistoric caves and Inca market to visit. This is also a great place to have an introductory day of scuba diving and for our clients we have arranged a discount for anybody who would like to scuba dive. We have 4 villas in Cala San Vicente.

Pollensa

Pollensa (or Pollenca) is one of Mallorcas' favourite towns, popular with locals and tourists alike. Its typical Mallorquine stone houses and narrow streets give shade from the sun and lead to the main square, Plaza Major,a favourite spot for tourists and locals alike to meet up for a morning coffee and chat. It's from here that you can climb the 365 stairs of the Shrine of Calvary, once at the top you will be rewarded with breath taking views of the surrounding country and down to the bay of Pollensa. There is a Sunday market in Pollensa town and a Wednesday market in the Port of Pollensa which is just 7 kilometres away. Lovers of sport and natural pursuits will find this the ideal place to pursue their favourite pastimes and golf players will be able to enjoy playing at the Pollensa Golf Club. The nine-hole course has easy fairways, especially for beginners and terrific views on the bay of Pollensa. For additional children’s entertainment there is a water park, carting track and three mini-golf courses, all less than ten minutes away at the Hidropark (open May to October) in nearby Alcudia. The town of Pollensa is situated about 6 kilometers inland and should not be confused with the coastal resort of Port de Pollensa. The Port of Pollensa is the happening point of this cultural town. Lined along the beach, are several shops, cafes and restaurants. From here you can take an excursion around the peninsula of Formentor which is considered the most scenic spot of Mallorca.

Port of Pollensa

Port of Pollensa, otherwise known as Puerto Pollensa, is one of the prettiest holiday resorts on the north coast of Mallorca.
